Summer Camp Update

Summer camp is now full! We’re taking a waiting list now. We won’t know for sure if we get the extra spots until mid-July. So here’s the deal: if you want to still sign up for camp, turn in a registration form along with a $50 deposit. We will hang onto the check and won’t deposit it until we know for sure if we have the spots. The total price will be $345 if you sign up by this Sunday, June 7th. The price goes up to $355 after that point. Thanks for your patience…hopefully we’ll be able to get everyone in who wants to go!

Going Public: Riverside – a preview

Going Public: Riverside is happening July 27th-August 2nd. We’ll have applications and info sheets available this Wednesday night. In the meantime, here are two of the churches we are partnering with. I’m VERY excited about working with these church plants.

Legacy Church – Eastvale: Legacy was started just a few months ago by Rick Morris. Rick was a long-time member here at Mag. They’re doing some great stuff serving the community in Eastvale. If you don’t know where Eastvale is, it’s right off the 15 Freeway between Norco and Ontario, just west of Mira Loma. We’ll be helping Legacy with some servant evangelism and canvassing their neighborhood with flyers a few days before they meet in a new location.

Orangecrest Community Church – Riverside: OCC was started by Josh De La Rosa. Josh graduated from CBU when I was probably a freshman or sophomore. He’s a super sharp guy who has a great heart to reach the Orangecrest neighborhood in Riverside. Their church meets in the new Orange Terrace Community Center and was started about a year and a half ago. We’ll be helping OCC with a family carnival that’s ending a weeklong sports camp they’ll be running.

Questions

In Genesis 4:3-5 how did Cain shortchange God? How have you shortchanged God?
What is the quality of time you spend with God?
Is there a behavior that you need to stop doing? On the flipside, is there a behavior you need to start doing?
In Genesis 4 we see that Cain had a choice, what are some of the choices you have in your daily life? How can these be made for God? What consequences will there be?
Tonight Mike talked about how our attitudes determines our actions. What attitudes do you need to change?

August 9-14
Cost:
$345 if registered by June 7th
$355 if registered by June 28th
Turn in $50 deposit and completed registration form to sign up

Activities:
fishing, basketball, volleyball, ping-pong, crafts, tubing, kayaking, snorkeling, swimming, midweek hike to Avalon, skit and talent show, Luau BBQ Beach Party (bring Hawaiian clothes)

Mike began a new series tonight called Worst-Case Scenario: How to Survive Life’s Relationships.

Mike’s Notes:

Main Idea: We are designed to be in relationship
Three Relationship Realities: God’s Image, God’s Presence, God’s Intimate Relationship

Questions:

How cool is it that Adam walked in the garden with God? Talk to your friend or think to yourself about what you would do.
Do your relationships work better with God present? How so?
How can you be “all there” in a situation/conversation?
“Complete vulnerability and no shame”, is this the description of your relationship with God? Do you tell him everything or do you try to hide it?
Are there people you are not being real with that you should be? Who are those you can confide in; those you can trust? I.e. Dad, Mom, pastor, sibling, friend, etc…
